Modesty takes the Fort #scavengerhunt

Forts . . . I’ve always been fascinated by them. And not just because they make me think of lots of men in uniform parading back and forth.

And not just because of the 7-inch loaders and those long barrels and muzzles!!!

It’s possibly something to do with them always being so strong and solid . . .

Built to last and built to withstand invasion and . . . naked . . . aggression.

This famous fortification in the Southern Hemisphere was built in the 1880’s to protect against the threat of Russian expansion . . .

and it is such a wonderfully exciting collection of connecting storerooms, barracks and armouries . . .

. . . and, of course, gun turrets and observation posts overlooking the harbour below! Although armed and ready throughout both World Wars, the guns here were never fired in anger, so in the 1950’s these fortifications became a public reserve and a popular exploration and tourist point.

So popular that it was quite difficult to pause between fellow tourists to claim this particular Fort as a Scavenger Hunt because . . . you know me . . . I would never wish to upset any passers by with an unexpected or unwelcome confrontation, especially in such a historical location.

One of the lovely things about blogging is discovering lots of new people sharing their own fun and their own interests and experiences.

I think that learning of different people’s kinks and what gives them enjoyment and excitement gives us all a much wider perspective on life . . . and that makes me smile and feel good.

Marie’s Red Love @ #polaroidspast

If you’ve been following all the fun photo-posts at Molly’s amazing #febphotofest this month . . . and I hope you have! . . . you will have seen lots of fabulous pictures from Marie Rebelle’s photo-archives.

The photograph above is another of her own #polaroidspast images that I absolutely love . . . and it’s not just the sensuality and erotic nature of the picture itself, it is also the words that accompany it at her Red Love post.  I do urge you to investigate . . . because her story is yet another example of how we should all learn to celebrate, enjoy and share in our relationships.

And that philosophy is also part of what #polaroidspast is all about. Even in 1986, whilst out for a run in my New Trainers, I’d never have been able to keep up with all the wonderful posts this month at #febphotofest.

And what I’m especially enjoying about Marie’s posts . . . along with her own #polaroidspast photographs . . . are her recollections of all the events and changes in her life at the time of each photo. I do urge you to investigate . . .

. . . because I think that re-living some of our past memories, is not only fun, but also a way of celebrating our bodies and reminding ourselves that not only are we all different shapes and sizes, but we all change and grow into different shapes and sizes. Modesty Waterfall #scavengerhunt 57

Finally . . . for all those that have asked . . . my brisk morning walk, led me to the famous Waterfalls I mentioned in my #scavengerhunt 53 post late last year.

ModestyAblazeFalls1And the torrent of water certainly does make an impressive sight . . . and sound
. . . when standing directly above one of the viewing points along the riverbank.

ModestyAblazeFalls4The history of the falls makes for some very interesting reading! From the legends of the past and how the falls came to be named (Huka being the Maori word for “foam”) . . . to even more recent times. Such as 1989 – when a local Dominatrix was arrested after the body of a well-known Cricket Umpire was found beneath the falls with wrists and ankles bound in bondage fashion!

ModestyAblazeFalls2Little wonder that the falls are apparently the most visited natural attraction
in the country . . . oh, in fact I think I can hear another walking party
approaching now!

ModestyAblazeFalls5Still, even despite the constant thundering noise of the water . . . and the constant stream of visitors (there is yet another party on the opposite bank behind me) . . . the falls do give one a strange sense of peace and tranquility and relaxation.
In fact a perfect location for a Curvaceous Dee’s Scavenger Hunt  photo-set!!!

Modesty’s Earth Moving Moment #scavengerhunt 56

ModestyDiggers1I do so LOVE big “equipment” . . . and loved finding this impressive piece of machinery just around the corner from our holiday apartment
in Greece last summer.

ModestyDiggers2Mmmm . . . it very probably is the largest piece of rubber
I’ve ever encountered!!!

ModestyDiggers3In fact it just felt so impressive wherever I touched and caressed it . . .

ModestyDiggers4And you know what they say about German engineering . . . well the earth certainly moved for me on that holiday . . . lots of times!!!

Modesty’s Holiday Decorations #scavengerhunt 55

I mentioned in my last-minute Sinful Sunday post at the weekend, that we’d taken several “Christmas Lights” photographs in my few minutes standing in the cold outside the shop.
