A Modest Year – 2018

I know that 2018 has been a difficult and worrying year for many people . . . here in the UK and right across the globe . . . and I certainly wouldn’t want to be-little or ignore those concerns, or worries.

But the focus for my Modesty Ablaze postings here, has always been to try to offer some alternative giggles and distractions and not take things too seriously.

And as has been a tradition at the end of each of my six years of Modesty Ablaze . . . I like take a quick glance backwards and remember the fun ups and downs of the last 12 months.

Now if you are a regular visitor here I’m sure you will know how much I love the #realworldsex concept of MakeLoveNotPorn . . . and it’s always really lovely to receive messages from so many people saying how much they enjoy my videos there . . . so to have reached over 50 videos hosted on MLNP was one of the highlights of the year. Especially as two of my own particular favourites, “Strap On Fun with She Lover” and “A Gentle Squeeze Part Two” have been so popular with my subscribers.

But of course I’ve had lots of other fun times during the past 12 months as well.

Such as improving my Nursing skills in January . . . and some Fine Tuning in February.

Joining in some Winter Olympics fun in March . . . and then back to earth with some DIY in April.

May was the month I turned 50 at Make Love Not Porn . . . and June was when I published “Unmasked” Part 7 of my “Modesty Ablaze Diaries”.

In July I got rather Sunburnt . . . but recovered enough to revisit some Building Sites in August.

In September I joined the FoodForThoughtFriday meme to answer some questions about “Starting Out” . . . and carried on with my thoughts on “Inspiration” in October.

And finally, in November I thought it would be nice to share an excerpt from “The Journey Beyond” Part 8 of my Diaries which I hope to publish in the early part of 2019.

So, I really do hope that these . . . or even more of my posts here at Modesty Ablaze . . . have brought at least some giggles and warmth throughout the year. Wishing you all lots more fun and laughter for 2019 !!!

Modestly Scentsible #wickedwednesday

Modesty Ablaze Sunflower ScavengerAs you can probably imagine, I always try to be sensible whenever I am out and about. You know I’m not one normally to take unnecessary risks!

But I must say I was a little nervous whilst navigating my way through rows and rows of these Sunflowers during my Lavender gathering in August.

Nervous because there were so many bees buzzing about, that I just had to keep flapping my sarong to try to keep them at bay!!!

Anyway, though Sunflowers don’t have the strongest of smells, I’m sure you’ll find more “scents” to enjoy at this week’s Wicked Wednesday.

P.S. – I’m hoping that all my flapping-about amongst these Sunflowers will qualify for the “Crops” category at Jade’s fun Scavenger Hunt pages.

Perhaps Someday #wickedwednesday

Whilst on our summer holiday last year, Hubby and I had considered putting in an offer to buy our dream Holiday Home Abroad! But once we returned home to London, the reality of the practicalities involved overcame us . . .

But on our return visit this summer, we just had to drive down that same road
to see if the property was still available . . .

Only to find that the “For Sale” sign had now changed to “For Rent”. Which started us wondering if perhaps we should call to make further enquiries . . . especially as the contact details began with my favourite number!!!

But once again on returning home, normal everyday life has just got in the way. Maybe someday . . . !!!

Building Site Re-revisited #sinfulsunday

“I do love an erection!” I said as we strolled down the hill from the Taverna.
“Yes, lots and lots of them usually” Hubby laughed in reply.

“No, I’m being serious for a minute . . . don’t you remember how this building looked when we were here two years ago?” I reminded him.
“I suppose you’re right,” he agreed. “Even last year it hadn’t changed much.”

“I love this little courtyard. They’ve erected proper steps now . . . and
windows and doors!”

“And look, each apartment has it’s own entrance . . . and intercom-bell.
Do you think someone’s already moved in?”

“They even have off-street parking as well . . . I rather like the look of it actually” I told Hubby. “Perhaps we should enquire about staying here next summer!”

But before getting too excited about next year, I shall head over to this week’s Sinful Sunday for some more immediate distractions!Sinful Sunday

Modesty’s Stairway #wickedwednesday

Modestly Absolutely Nothing

“The question at this week’s Sinful Sunday is Underneath”, Hubby chuckled. “Well, that’s easy, Absolutely Nothing, of course!” I giggled in reply.

As on our recent day-out to the Pier. But although I enjoyed our mile-long stroll, I was disappointed to discover that the kiosk at the end only had tea and coffee on offer. So . . . I insisted

. . . on taking the train, for the return journey back to shore.

“After all . . . it is wine-o’clock!” I said to Hubby as we found a seat in one of the middle-carriages.

“This is much quicker!” I said gleefully as we passed by people walking out as we had done earlier.

“You see . . . there already” I told him as we pulled into the station. “Now, you can treat me at that wine bar we saw on the promenade this morning!”

Modestly continued #wickedwednesday

I often receive emails mentioning that I haven’t posted a new “Scavenger Hunt” for a while! And sometimes those messages suggest locations. . . or events . . . the Wedding on Saturday??? LOL!!! . . . I’d love to, but !!!!

So no, I haven’t stopped my Scavengering . . . and I am still continuing to
find new, beautiful locations. It’s just that sometimes they belong to a category which I have already added to my Scavenger listings.
Such as the lovely public gardens above.

Which is why . . . being rather greedy I suppose . . . but not wanting to waste lovely new locations or situations, I started an Exposé Vŭ page for occasional new, and fun, Scavenger revisited postings!!!

Modest Sign Posts #sinfulsunday

The end of our first day at the beach . . . and there are certainly no shortage of signs pointing the way to the conveniences.

But, disappointingly, I can’t see one for the nearest beach-bar !!!

Snow Difference #sinfulsunday

Whether it’s cold and snowy . . . as it was just a few weeks ago . . .

Or, warm and sunny . . . as it has been here in London this weekend . . .
there’s something quite relaxing about a stroll in the park.

And, of course, it’s always nice to sit down on a bench for a moment, and enjoy the quiet and peaceful surroundings.
