Modesty Ablaze Recovering - 1984

Modesty Ablaze “afterwards” – 1984

Whilst we were browsing through photographs for my #afterrealworldsexselfies post during this past week, Hubby remarked that I’ve always had that sinfully-satisfied look in my eyes immediately “afterwards”.

And to emphasise his point, he pulled out this photo . . .  one of our #polaroidspast collection . . . from one of my “afterwards” from 1984. And in all the years since there have been lots . . . and lots and lots . . . of sinful moments of course!

But it’s fun being sinful sometimes isn’t it . . . and I’m sure that all of you here this Sinful Sunday will look back and giggle and feel good about your own sinful-moments-past.

And, for lots of Sinful moments from the present this Sunday, simply click the lovely lips below!

Sinful Sunday

Oh and P.S. – I get lots of messages from people who say they would love to join-in with #polaroidspast but don’t have any old “polaroids”. But the theme is actually about celebrating how you have become who you are now! Just remembering those wonderful . . . fun . . . and perhaps inspirational moments, from even your recent past, that have brought you to the here and now. So Come-on . . . Dare to Bare . . . Be Proud of Who You have Become!

A modest goal #wickedwednesday

This week’s theme at Wicked Wednesday is about setting oneself goals . . . and it suddenly got me thinking that I’ve always just tended to go along with whatever happens day-by-day.

I suppose the one thing that I have always tried to do though, my main (modest) “goal” if you like, is to just approach everything in life with the aim of making it fun. Not just fun for myself, but fun for those around me as well.

I try not to take anything too seriously . . . especially not myself . . . and, whether it be with family or close friends, work colleagues or even people I may just meet in the course of a normal day . . . I just hope to share a joke, make them smile or giggle . . . and hopefully feel better about their day as a result.

My early working career usually involved lots and lots of telephone conversations with people I may never have met . . . and probably never would . . . but I would always try and put them at ease and make them feel as though they were talking to an intimate friend.

And that’s been the way I have always approached my blog here at Modesty Ablaze as well. Just having fun, posting thoughts and pictures . . . and joining-in memes such as Wicked Wednesday and Sinful Sunday. Knowing that I may not be making any meaningful statements, or give life-changing advice . . . but just hoping that I may occasionally make someone smile and feel good.

And thinking about my early working career, made me remember this Polaroids Past photo that Hubby snapped in his office in 1986.

I’d probably just come off the telephone having shared a joke or a few giggles with one of his clients! Hopefully it might bring a few smiles and giggles today this Wicked Wednesday.

Skimpy but not Pinky @CliveServes #polaroidspast

@CliveServes 1983

@CliveServes 1983

One of the lovely things about blogging is discovering lots of new people sharing their own fun and their own interests and experiences.

I think that learning of different people’s kinks and what gives them enjoyment and excitement gives us all a much wider perspective on life . . . and that makes me smile and feel good.

And one of those bloggers that always makes me smile and feel good is @CliveServes and I was so thrilled when he recently posted one of his own #polaroidspast from 1983.

You can read Clives “Skimpy but not Pinky” post . . . and browse more of his delightful and fun blog >here<.

And fun is what #polaroidspast is all about. A fun and natural way of celebrating our bodies and reminding ourselves that not only are we all different shapes and sizes, and live different lives and different relationships, but we all change and grow in every aspect as the years pass by. That is just how we all naturally develop and change.

If you have some memories . . . words or pictures . . . of your own that you would like to share, then I would LOVE you to join in.

Simpler times @ #polaroidspast

The Games Room 1985

Flicking back through our Polaroids Past photo albums often makes me think how everything seemed so much simpler back then.

Pre-children, pre-laptop computers, pre-mobile phones! Of course we still had gadgets . . . and games (LOL!!!) . . . but they all seemed less complicated and so much easier to operate.

But of course things will always change and we all have to adapt and accept those inevitable changes. And that is part of what #polaroidspast is all about. Not a longing for the past . . . but a fun way of celebrating our changes and reminding ourselves that not only are we all different shapes and sizes, and live different lives and different relationships, but we all change and grow in different ways as the years pass by.

If you have some examples, or instances of what those changes have meant for you . . . and you would like to share them  in words or pictures . . . then I would LOVE you to join in.

Marie’s Red Love @ #polaroidspast

If you’ve been following all the fun photo-posts at Molly’s amazing #febphotofest this month . . . and I hope you have! . . . you will have seen lots of fabulous pictures from Marie Rebelle’s photo-archives.

The photograph above is another of her own #polaroidspast images that I absolutely love . . . and it’s not just the sensuality and erotic nature of the picture itself, it is also the words that accompany it at her Red Love post.  I do urge you to investigate . . . because her story is yet another example of how we should all learn to celebrate, enjoy and share in our relationships.

And that philosophy is also part of what #polaroidspast is all about. A fun and natural way of celebrating our bodies and reminding ourselves that not only are we all different shapes and sizes, and live different lives and different relationships, but we all change and grow in every aspect as the years pass by. That is just how we all naturally develop and change.

Modesty’s Trainers 1986 @ #polaroidspast No.9

Modesty Ablaze White Trainers Polaroids Past 1986

Our for a run in the park – My New White Trainers – 1986

Even in 1986, whilst out for a run in my New Trainers, I’d never have been able to keep up with all the wonderful posts this month at #febphotofest.

Especially the number of fabulous pictures from Marie Rebelle . . . follow her own #polaroidspast images throughout this month on her #febphotofest posts.

And what I’m especially enjoying about Marie’s posts . . . along with her own #polaroidspast photographs . . . are her recollections of all the events and changes in her life at the time of each photo. I do urge you to investigate . . .

And, of course, to perhaps think of posting some of your own photographs (and memories) here at #polaroidspast . . .

. . . because I think that re-living some of our past memories, is not only fun, but also a way of celebrating our bodies and reminding ourselves that not only are we all different shapes and sizes, but we all change and grow into different shapes and sizes. That is just how we all naturally develop and change.

And, perhaps you would like to join the rolling slide-show Gallery . . . but that is optional of course!!! Come-on, it may be a wee-bit embarrassing . . . but it really is just a bit of fun . . . and I think fun is what life should be all about!!!

Marie Rebelle’s “A Splash of Red” – 2009 #polaroidspast

Marie Rebelle's Splash of Red 2009

Marie Rebelle’s “A Splash of Red” 2009

One of the experiences I’ve enjoyed most in my three years of posting here at Modesty Ablaze, has been discovering and meeting people with a similar outlook on life.

Similar experiences, similar stories . . . and similar fetishes (LOL!!!)

And one of those people has been the lovely Marie Rebelle. Not only is Marie one of the most prolific bloggers of all things erotic at her rebellious Rebel’s Notes . . . and the creator and curator of the delightfully wicked Wicked Wednesday . . . she also has an envious collection of biographical images and photographs. Such as her lovely “A Splash of Red” photograph from 2009.

And it is so lovely . . . and so in-keeping with my Polaroids Past theme of  “looking back at ourselves and celebrating the person we were . . . AND the person we have become”.

I loved Marie’s image and post so much that I just had to ask her if she would allow me to re-post it here. And I am so thrilled that she said “yes”. And, judging by the fact that she has made it one of her #febphotofest series, I suspect there will be many more exciting splashes at Rebel’s Notes to come.

If you would like to join Marie and I in celebrating your own #polaroidspast please do get in touch by clicking on the Polaroids Past image below.

A 1988 Office Affair #wickedwednesday

Modesty Ablaze Office Affair

Polaroids Past – Modesty in the office – 1988

Oh dear, all our Festive Fun is definitely well and truly over! Back in the office and back to the stresses and strains of “normal” office life.

But have you ever found yourself tempted at the office . . . into an office affair? That is just what Marie is asking at this week’s Wicked Wednesday!!!

“Office Affair. Did you ever have one. Or wished you had one with the hunk of the office or the sexy secretary? Do you have a fantasy about someone at the office? If you have or had an office affair, how did it start? And how did it end? Why did it end?”

Well, I have to honestly answer Marie’s question that . . . Yes I did. A long time ago . . . 1988 actually. So Marie’s prompt brought back (nice for me) memories. I’m  not going to share all the details here, but just couldn’t resist including one of my Polaroids Past” photographs from that very year which seems to perfectly fit the Office-Affair theme.

What I can tell you is that the affair had an amazing impact on my marriage . . . and life since (see The More I Have”).

BUT, But, but . . . I was very, very lucky and I would never suggest that one’s work-place is really the right environment for indulging in extra-curricular activities. But I’m sure there will be quite a wide variety of different answers, anecdotes and memories . . . to be found by tapping on the Wicked Wednesday  button below.

Hair to Bare #wickedwednesday

Hair . . . or Bare? It is of course a matter of personal preference . . . and certainly back in 1985 it had never crossed my mind as to be anything other than “au naturel”!!!

WindowChair1985

Polaroids Past . . . Modesty au naturel in 1985.

And yet as soon as my “personal hair” had started growing, I’d always shaved my armpits . . . because as mother had told me “nice girls do”!!! But there was never any mention of shaving “further down below”.

It wasn’t until I discovered Nina Hartley, and her wonderfully fun and liberating movies, that I was tempted to shave my pubic hair.

Both Hubby, and my regular lover at the time (No.1), declared they loved it.
The smoothness of the “look” . . . and the smoothness of the “feel”. And so I continued.

But as time went by, I found the daily maintenance required to be tiresome . . . and time-wasting! So I began booking regular waxing appointments . . . and have just continued to do so. All of my lovers over the past years have seemed to comment approvingly . . . and so I remain . . . bare below.

But, as I say . . . I know it is really a case of personal preference and I am sure you will find many diverse, and interesting, opinions on the subject at this week’s Wicked Wednesday from the button below.

Modesty’s Back Pages . . . #wickedwednesday

This week’s Wicked Wednesday theme is “Looking Back” and, of course,
I just couldn’t resist “looking back” with one of my Polaroids Past photographs from 1983.

But, I really, really, really don’t want to bore you all . . . so, if you are growing tired of faded, old (and hairy!) photographs from my Back Pages . . . please look away now!!!

My Modest Apron 1983

This picture is especially for the lovely She Lover . . . a picture of me modestly modelling my apron in my “brand-new kitchen” in 1983!!!
