I generally like to keep my posts here at Modesty Ablaze, fun and frivolous . . . just to make people smile and, hopefully, feel happier than when they arrrived.
However . . . breast-screening is something we should all take seriously . . . especially as we become a little more “mature” (at least in years, if not actions!!!)
So as I passed by this sign in my travels last week, it made me think that it was an entirely appropriate prompt to mention at this week’s Boobday Friday
not only because as Hyacinth says . . .
Boobday is a body-positive meme where women share images of their bodies in order to show that there is beauty in all of us. With confidence comes power and with power comes confidence.
But ALSO because one in eight women are diagnosed with breast-cancer
at some point during their life. But it CAN be treatable if it is diagnosed
early enough. So I urge ALL of you ladies to request a screening with your
GP once every three years. (If you are reading this in the UK, and you are
aged over 50, it is actually free!!!
And then we can all continue to view different and powerful boobs, this and every Friday, from clicking Hyacinth’s lovely cleavage below!
Xxx – K
Great way to bring awareness to breast cancer awareness. This should be in forefront of every women’s mind, even though its a pain in the ass, uncomfortable and just inconvenient. Free screening for women over 50??!!! No excuses! I wish it was free here in the states 🙁
Always love your photos K!!!!
