I’ve always been intrigued by the thought of vibrating balls or eggs . . . but never owned any! So I was thrilled that the Loving Joy Dream Eggs were among some suggestions that the lovely people at Belle De Soir recently asked me if I’d be interested in receiving to review.
As always the parcel arrived within two days of me emailing my request and, again as always with everything from Belle De Soir, was wonderfully packaged inside a neat white plain cardboard box. As you can see from my photo above, the Dream Eggs box itself is a really nice strong black cardboard design with open-window type top. (Though I did wonder if the spelling of “12 Funtions” was a deliberate play on words . . . or just that they’d missed out the “c” when proof-reading the design!)
The controller and the three eggs are perfectly packed in a clear plastic moulded pack of their own which, when one slides it out from the box, has a hinged lid which can be easily opened and closed again each time you use them.
I was a bit disappointed that the hand-controller felt quite light and “plasticky” when I first lifted it out. But the Eggs themselves are much nicer and more silky to the touch . . . and as the price from Belle De Soir is so reasonable for an item of this nature, one really shouldn’t quibble about the “feel” of the controller . . .
so I won’t !!
What I had forgotten though, when I read the initial blurb about the Dream Eggs, is that the handset requires two AAA Batteries which are not included with the item. And a quick rummage through my toys drawer wasn’t helpful either, as all my other battery operated vibes used ones of a completely different size or type. But wait, the TV remote control? . . . Ah ha, perfect . . . I certainly wasn’t going to be watching television at the same time!!!
As I mentioned, the eggs themselves feel nicer than the controller. The exact size of each one is noted in my summary panel below, so for now I’ll just refer to them here as Small, Medium and Large. The Small and Large ones feel quite similar in shape and smoothness, but the Middle one is different actually. It has a slightly ridged or grooved feel to it . . . so I was keen to “feel” the difference, in practice so-to-speak.
Each Egg has it’s own cable with which to attach them to the controller. The cables are very light and unobtrusive and at 33 inches long give one plenty of scope for position and eventuality. At the egg-end they are moulded into the shape itself . . . so there is no danger of the cable becoming detached and leaving the egg behind! The other end of each cable has a small plug, rather like a headphone-jack for ones phone, which plugs into the controller. And a note here re the “Wired remote control vibrating eggs” description on the Dream Eggs product page at Belle De Soir which should perhaps be a little clearer. Ie: “remote” doesn’t mean “wireless” because the Eggs do have to be physically attached to the controller by plugging in their cable. (So my fantasies of wandering around my local supermarket aisles, or perhaps dining-out with a lover at an exclusive West End restaurant, whilst having an Egg wildly vibrating inside me, will be difficult to achieve. But . . . never say never . . . so watch this space!!!)
Anyway . . . on with the task in-hand!!! There are just two buttons on the controller, one to turn on and off, and the top one (with x12 printed on it) from which you can scroll through the 12 different speed-settings with each push of the button. You can only scroll upwards, so if you select a setting to see what it is like only to find you prefer the previous setting, you have to turn the unit off and then start again. So, like all things, it’s a question of trial and error to determine one’s favourite setting and remembering how many “pushes” on the button it was to find it. Or of course you may find it’s just fun to change the setting every-so-often anyway.
I won’t describe each setting one-by-one, but each are a little faster or more intense, or may have a more “pulsing / throbbing” vibration as you change from one to the next, and for such small batteries the vibrations are surprisingly strong, and surprisingly quiet as well. And actually I was really quite impressed with the different variety and throbbing-patterns of the pulsing options as I scrolled through them whilst holding each Egg in the palm of my hand.
But how do those vibrations feel where they should really count??? . . . Well . . .
Sometimes I get a bit greedy, but I resisted the temptation to go straight for the Large one and started, where one always should, at the very beginning . . . with the Smallest.
Now I am a clittoral girl and I love the feeling I get from being tingled and buzzed, stroked and vibrated there . . . and that is, of course, where things normally start for me at playtime. (Not always, but mostly!) And as I said, for such small batteries, the vibrations even on the smallest of the eggs are surprisingly strong and very pleasant. But I can get quickly bored . . . and anyway, the thing I’d always been interested in about Eggs was how they might feel once inside me.
So, buzzing away, I slid No.1 (Small) inside . . . and . . . well I could feel it . . . just.
I squeezed my legs together and worked on my pelvic-routine a little, but . . . it wasn’t giving me the sensations I’d hoped for. I experimented with the settings, faster, and searching for that really nice pulsing one that I’d discovered whilst holding it over my clit. But did it give me the same sensation inside? No . . . not really.
Perhaps I needed larger, and perhaps that slightly ridged Middle one, would do the trick? It certainly felt nice rubbing back and forth over my clit again . . . and because it was a bit larger the vibrations did feel stronger . . . but once inside I’m afraid I was left with the same feeling of not really feeling that much. I twisted it round and round as well, trying to sense if those “ridges” made any internal difference, but sadly they didn’t.
So . . . I was sure that the Large egg was going to be just what I needed . . . I always like large, from my glasses of wine to . . . well, you know !!! And on the outside ooohh those vibrations certainly felt even stronger, so . . . ???
Well I could feel it buzzing away inside, and I could sense the changes in speed and vibrations as I pushed away at the button. But . . . I still wanted to be feeling more. I wanted it to be making me twist and shake, and shudder and sway, but it didn’t . . . and because I knew I would lose the moment and lose my concentration completely, I slid it back out . . . and up over my own button again. And, yes, bliss . . . if you know what I mean!!!
But as nice as that was, it wasn’t really the sensation I’d been hoping for from the Loving Joy Dream Eggs.
However, first-time play is often not what you hope it will be. And I also know that when I’m trying out a new toy that I have been asked to review, my mindset is not always as it would be if I was just playing normally. So I always pack the toy away and come back to it again for a fresh approach a few days later.
S0 I have tried it again on a number of different occasions . . . both on my own . . . and also “in company” . . . and although it has been fun and has introduced a different approach to my playtime, it still hasn’t really moved me as much as I’d hoped it might.
I do enjoy those different and quite clever pulsing motions. But, for the times I like to be . . . “filled-up” more . . . I need something which can thrust further and deeper, or perhaps stimulate my g-spot . . . which even with the Largest egg, it just isn’t possible to achieve.
But . . . we are all different and all enjoy stimulation and play-times in different ways don’t we . . . and so, if you know that you enjoy internal vaginal stimulation, then I would certainly recommend giving the Loving Joy Dream Eggs from Belle De Soir a try . . . because they may just do for you what they don’t quite manage for me. Well, apart that is, from those lovely “external” pulses!!!
Oh, and what about the TV remote control? Well yes . . . I did put them back . . . but only after instructing Hubby to “buy me two brand-new batteries for my Eggs please”.
Modesty Rating: 6 out of 10
Pros: Surprisingly strong vibrations and surprisingly quiet, especially when inserted, (but see **Batteries below).
Cons: For me, personally, they just don’t move me to “that other place”.

Batteries: 2 x AAA required and are not included. Although I haven’t run the Eggs continuously for any long period, I have been using quite regularly over the past two weeks and they are still buzzing strongly!
Waterproof: No information supplied, but I would suspect not. Well certainly not for the controller.
Cleaning: Obviously always wash thoroughly before, and after use. I first wipe with my anti-bacterial cleansers then with warm soapy water.
