Whenever we journey to the southern hemisphere, I always ask Hubby to take me back to Botanical Gardens in the Domain. I loved it when he took me there on our first visit over 30 years ago . . . and it has had a special place in my heart ever since.
Situated almost right in the centre of the city, it is a wonderful haven of colour, peace and tranquility.
The two small hot-houses are almost like miniature versions of the ones in Greenwich Park here in London.
And the couple behind me must have been enjoying exploring the pathways too, as they seemed to be following us as we wandered around and around.
We decided to pause for a while near the statues and they eventually moved on . . . although it still felt like I was being watched from somewhere.
I especially like the Fernery . . . it feels almost like being lost in a tropical rain-forest . . . though I was still conscious of occasional footsteps on the gravel somewhere behind me.
But it is such a lovely feeling in there . . . warm and yet damp and moist at the same time . . . just the way I like it !!!
I enjoyed it so much that I’m hoping the lovely Dee will allow this as a “Botanical Garden” category at her wonderfully fun Curvaceous Dee’s Scavenger Hunt site.
You can do some exploring for yourself at my previous Scavenger locations on my Scavenger Hunt Listing page.
How about joining in the fun with some sharing of your own???

You make the winter gardens look incredible! I’ve included this as part of the ‘Garden (public) category, rather than creating a new one.
