The Lelo Ora . . . oral sex simulator

I was so excited when I was asked if I would like to review the Lelo Ora . . . as amongst the (quite extensive LOL!!!) collection of vibrators in my toy drawer, I’ve never had one designed to simulate oral sex.

And my excitement and anticipation rose even more as I unpacked the parcel and ran my fingers over that lovely Lelo silicone for the first time.

The packaging is just exquisite! The glossy outer sleeve (complete with short descriptive informative text in six languages on the side) opens at the top to allow one to slide out the luxurious inner box. The dark black, heavy matt cardboard lid lifts off almost like a jewellery box to reveal the Ora itself nestled in it’s black foam base. A neat fold-over thinner (but matching colour and feel) black card, with the Lelo logo printed stylishly in black foil, masks the white charging unit and cable neatly contained in it’s own pocket.

This Lelo toy is available in Black, Midnight Blue and Deep Rose. Mine was the Midnight Blue and lifting the intriguingly, almost sculptured, shape of the toy from the box I was almost immediately swooning at the feel and contour of it’s shape. That wonderful silicone moulding of the outer ring with a silver metallic-type casting for the inner grip (with the Lelo logo on either side) just oozes class and style. Take a look at my pictures above, and below, and you will see just what I mean . . . and it does feel just as good as it looks.

The almost circular shape is interrupted and flattened for a few centimetres . . . 4cm actually . . . not to act as a base to stand the Ora up, (although it does serve that purpose as well as I’m looking at it now sitting on my bedside table), but rather as a more flexible membrane housing the “tongue” of the toy itself.

Further around the outer “wheel” is the small, discreet, jack-hole for charging (but this toy is 100% waterproof so you don’t need to worry about trying to avoid the hole when cleaning . . . or using excess lube!!!).

And further around again, at what I suppose would be the “top” of the Ora if you imagine it “resting” on it’s base, are the three operational buttons inconspicuously and, stylishly of course, moulded into the silicone and marked by an almost-entwined, lovers knot design, type of groove.

As I connected and plugged-in the charger I almost swooned again as those lovers-knot grooves began to blink with a pretty neon-blue light. But I resigned myself to the practical necessity of noting from the product information that it would require 2 to 3 hours for a first full-charging . . . but that would then allow for a full hour of “user time” . . . and I surely wouldn’t need a “full hour” would I ???

Now . . . I love almost anything sexually and I’m still finding new things that are exciting and enjoyable and satisfying. And I have certainly ALWAYS loved oral sex. And yes, I can climax just from being lovingly licked and kissed around those lips . . . but !!!

But, actually, the most erogenous of all my erogenous zones is not anywhere on my body, but inside my . . . head!

You see, I just have to be in the right frame of mind, the right environment, the right mood to be able to really enjoy, really let myself go, and really, really indulge ALL of me in that special moment in time . . .

And something I have discovered since trying to write about, or “review” my feelings about a certain toy, is that it can be a bit like baking a cake for the first time. (Yes really!!!) Just following that recipe for the first time, preparing all the right ingredients, reading and following all the instructions. By the time the cake is baked it just doesn’t seem to taste as I’d hoped, or expected, it too.

And so it proved with my Ora !!!

I lay back, confident in how lovely the Ora felt to hold with my fingers curled perfectly through the grip-hole, and began experimenting with the plus button (for increasing the vibrations) and the minus button (for, obviously, slowing down the intensity). I pushed, and held that middle button (for “3 seconds” – so I counted 1-2-3,1-2-3) for the 30% increase in the intensity of the vibrations that I’d read about in the information sheet. I paused to apply more lubricant (water-based only please!) and turned it off and on again to slowly push (but not hold) the middle button to scroll through the quoted “10 different simulation modes”. I lifted it away intermittently to check what pattern, or rhythm, the nodule, or “tongue”, beneath that thin membrane was actually doing . . . what direction, or rotation, it was performing. (It has a complete circular stroking motion or a back-and-forth, sort of car-windscreen-wiper type motion).

Unfortunately though, whatever the setting I was choosing, it just wasn’t happening for me. The sound of the vibrations (and it is actually quite quiet compared to most of my other vibrators) began to distract me. I couldn’t concentrate on the matter in hand (so to speak!). I wanted to slide my fingers inside, feel something pushing, probing, stroking. After 15 minutes of frustration and worry, I reached across the bed for Hubby saying “I think I need something else”.

But . . . and this is the moral of not ONLY this story/situation . . . but probably for me, the moral of all situations . . . the next morning!!! . . .

. . . I was awakened, far too early for a Sunday morning, by Hubby’s alarm. He was getting up to watch “the rugby” from the other side of the world. I cursed at him “at least bring me up a cup of tea at half-time!!!” . . .

And, as I turned over . . . cursing still . . . my tired eyes spied that beautifully shaped Ora staring back at me from my bedside table.

I reached over and swooned again as I ran my fingers over that lovely silky silicone. I picked it up and slid my fingers through the grip. It felt smooth, almost welcoming and enticing, in my hand. I pushed the “plus” button. The gentle vibrations that had seemed to upset my concentration the night before, suddenly seemed to empower me. I wanted to “feel” that tongue on me, feel the sound of the vibrations “touching and licking” at me.

I slid the Ora down over my tummy . . .

. . . and suddenly last night didn’t exist, hadn’t happened!!!

And did the thought that this wasn’t Hubby’s tongue (or anyone else’s tongue for that matter!) swirling around and around over my clit enter my head??? YES it did enter my head, it WAS in my mind. In fact, the very fact that I KNEW this was the Ora flicking itself over me was arousing me more and more . . . and it’s vibrations driving me to that wonderful, lovely, twisting, turning explosion. In only a few minutes my cake had not only been baked, but well and truly eaten and consumed!!!

So, can I say that either of my (so far) two experiences with the Ora would happen for you??? No of course I can’t. Rather like cakes , we all like different things at different times . . . and sometimes we won’t enjoy the taste of the same cake tomorrow that we loved so much last night.

But what I can tell you is that I’m sure I will be reaching for my Ora again!
