I don’t know about you, but I always feel there is something quite special, almost magical, about old buildings and historical places.
It’s not just that the buildings often have a special style or beauty that seems lacking in modern-day architecture . . . for me it’s also about knowing that, like Acacia Cottage, they have been a special place for generations of different occupants and visitors.
And even in the middle of a busy central-city setting, just being able to sit on the verandah, one could almost feel the stories they could tell . . . and the sights they have seen. (I’m sure the couple behind us probably felt exactly the same).
And it was such a joy to be able to share those sort of reflections with the lovely Curvaceous Dee . . . and even though we weren’t alone . . .
. . . and we heard the occasional car driving by . . . we were still able to enjoy the beautiful view across the park . . .
. . . and of course, I just had to explore the rooms inside to find the bedroom and admire the quilted wash-stand cover . . . even if it was behind protective glass.
I hope you will enjoy these moments of fun, and reflection, as much as Dee and myself did . . . and if you keep visiting my Scavenger Hunt posts here and the lovely Dee’s own posts at Curvaceous Dee’s Scavenger Hunt you might well see some more Two-For-One posts in the near future.
You can see my other Scavenger posts from the following links (Telephone booth, Farm, Balcony, Pool, Park, Woods, Tree, Footpath, Bench, Flagpole, Supermarket, Monument, Tube Train ).
How about joining in the fun with some of your own!!!!

To me, old buildings act as a sort of connection to my childhood days, allow me to identify with the particular place!
