Mirrored Past #sinfulsunday

HairBrush83

Modesty Ablaze – #polaroidspast – 1983

I’ve never really liked mirrors . . . because, very often, I don’t really like
what I see looking back at me.

I suppose it’s because one always thinks that it is the mirror that reflects everything about who we are.

But then I’ll remember which one of us is really in control . . . so I’ll shake
my finger in defiance and say “there will always be more to me than you
can ever see!!!”

Of course, I probably wasn’t thinking that as I stood brushing my hair in my #polaroidspast picture from 1983 . . . but as Mirrors is this week’s theme at Sinful Sunday there is sure to be lots more reflections-shared from
brushing the lips below!

A Modest Timeline #wickedwednesday

None of us think of ever growing old do we? We will always be eternal, always be young . . . old is always the next generation on. Something we are not, something we never want to be.

Modesty Ablaze 1982

Modesty Ablaze – March 1982

Looking back through the years, I suppose we just keep shifting our own timeline . . . decade by decade . . . or, at least, I do !!!

So, jottings from my diaires . . . a Modesty Ablaze timeline:

From my Seventy-Teenies:
Rebelling from Catholic school tie and gymslips by day, to punk rocker by night down in deepest darkest Soho. I will never be old. Meet a boy with strange accent . . . A little older? Just a little. But . . . he works in the bar at the Marquee club in Wardour Street. Free tickets, free drinks at the bar! He likes me! The Clash, Siouxsie, The Damned, The Jam . . . wild times, wild nights. I’ll never grow old!

To my Eighty-Twenties:
I’ll never grow old. Leaving school. New job. Same boy, think he likes me. Summer holidays, island hopping Greek Islands. Different job. Same boy, think I like him. Flying to the bottom half of the world. I’ll never grow old! Returning home. Leaving home. Sinful living, same boy, we like each other. I’m never growing old, in fact I’m feeling younger.

And my Eighty-MidTwenties (almost):
Same boy. He loves me, I love him. White Wedding. Route 66, Everglades, Sunsets over Key West. I’ll never grow old! In fact, I’m feeling younger.

To my Ninety-Twenties:
New home. Same boy. Children. Love them. Suddenly . . . I’m getting older.

And my Two Thousand Thirties:
School run mornings. Back to work. Office affair. Oh God, what’s happening? I’m a wife, a mother, I should be being responsible, I’m not a youngster anymore. What to do? Must stop, can’t stop. Come clean to same boy. He says he knows already! He understands, he loves me. He thinks it’s fun. He doesn’t mind. I love him. I’m never growing old, in fact I’m feeling younger.

Oh suddenly it’s Two Thousand Forties:
Same boy. New job. New affair(s). Oh God. Can’t stop. Never growing old, in fact feeling younger.

And my Two Thousand Mid-Forties:
Same boy. Swinging fun, such fun. Three-somes, Four-somes, More-somes.
Oh God. Can’t stop. Never growing old, in fact feeling even younger.

To my Two Thousand Fifties:
Same boy. More fun, such fun. FemDom, Mistressing, Crops & Canes. Can’t stop. Won’t stop. Too much fun to stop.
I can’t possibly be getting old, in fact I’m feeling younger, ever younger!

ModestyAblazeSocksFeb2916

Modesty Ablaze – March 2016

So . . . I’ve changed my socks since 1982 . . . changed my knickers too (not that I wear them as often now as I did then!) But I never want to change my philosophy . . . You are only ever as old as you feel! You can’t change Time . . . so use Time . . . Play Time . . . Feel young . . . be young . . . stay young . . . Forever young!!!

This week’s theme at Wicked Wednesday is on Growing Older . . .  and if you tap the magic circle below, you are sure to find much more on time ticking by!

Modest Return Visits #polaroidspast

RiverBed82

Mangamuka River Bed 1982

Please accept my apologies that I haven’t been indulging in, or visiting, as many of my Sinful and Wicked posts of late.

I’ve actually been indulging in, and revisiting, lots of memories and locations from my holidays . . . and #polaroidspast . . . in the Southern Hemisphere over the past three weeks. The photo above is from 1982 and yesterday (below) I was standing in the same riverbed!

RiverBedJan16

Mangamuka River Bed 2016

Lots, and lots, of water has flowed down that river, in the 34 years since!!!

I truly hope I can revisit . . . and stand in the same spot in another 34 years time
. . . perhaps having my picture taken again to add to my #polaroidspast albums and my Polaroids Past slide-show !!!

Modesty Ablaze in Polaroids Past

Oh and P.S. – I get lots of messages from people who say they would love to join-in with #polaroidspast but don’t have any old “polaroids”. But the theme is actually about celebrating how you have become who you are now! Just remembering those wonderful . . . fun . . . and perhaps inspirational moments, from even your recent past, that have brought you to the
here and now.
So Come-on . . . Dare to Bare . . .
Be Proud of Who You have Become!

Of Christmas’s Past #sinfulsunday

ModestyChristmas1985

A Modest Christmas Tree – 1985

I’m sure you will know that I’ve always been quite shy . . . and always approached everything I do “modestly”.

Even my #polaroidspast Christmas tree in 1985 was quite modest and discreet.

There’s sure to be lots more modest and discreet thoughts on festive-themes at this weeks Sinful Sunday . . . or perhaps not “that” modest and discreet!!!

But it will be fun to investigate won’t it? Let’s find out by tapping the lips below!

Modesty’s Black Shoes #polaroidspast

BlackDong86

Modesty Ablaze – Better in Black – 1986

I’ve always enjoyed wearing black . . . I mean black shoes and lingerie silly . . . what ever else were you thinking???

Even here, way back in 1986 from one of our #polaroidspast photo albums, it’s obvious that I loved squeezing myself onto (whoops, you’ve got me at it now!) I mean “into” my favourite black personals. And no, don’t even ask me, I wasn’t thinking about writing a toy-review at the time! But from the look on my face I was clearly concentrating on the immediate matters in hand.

And I always have lots of other fond memory-moments whenever I browse my #polaroidspast albums . . . and my Polaroids Past slide-show . . . as well as lots and lots of giggles at my changing hair-style (upstairs AND downstairs if you know what I mean!) throughout the years!!!

Modesty’s Sundial 1982 #sinfulsunday

SunDial1982

The Sundial – 1982

The English autumn has only just begun . . . but I’m already missing the summer sun . . . and summer fun! Not only of this summer just gone, but of
summer’s long, long past as well.

And this photo, from our Polaroids Past collection, brings back wonderful memories of my very first summer vacation to the far north of New Zealand.
I’m standing atop a famous sun-dial over-looking a gorgeous view of the Bay of Islands spread below us. But despite the fact that this was almost 30 years before we’d even heard of Dee’s Scavenger Hunt, Hubby was . . . for some reason . . . standing with his back to the lovely view and taking photos in completely the opposite direction!!!

I am sure you will discover lots of other people looking back, and looking forward, this Sinful Sunday by kissing the lips below!

Retro Legs @fdotleonora #polaroidspast

@fdotleonora Retro Legs – 2010

If you viewed my Laid Completely Bare post recently you will know that I mentioned F Dot Leonora as being “the most stylish and classiest curator of erotic snapshots (and I mean words AND pictures)”  . . .

So I am absolutely thrilled today to welcome F Dot to #polaroidspast .

I always find F Dot’s words and images immediately intriguing and interesting . . . always demanding questions and interpretation as I browse and gaze . . . and this picture from 2010 is no exception.

In her recent Sinful Sunday post, F Dot decribed Retro Legs as . . .

This is an old photo I took for another blog incarnation of mine, about magic which is following me as a theme . . . There are no filters or effects on this, my early pics are raw . . .

And raw is exactly as I like most of the things in my life to be . . . raw and real . . . inspiring and fun.

I find visiting F Dot at her Connecting the Dots almost like wandering through the corridors of an Art Gallery . . . inspiring always, intriguing definitely, interesting certainly. I urge you to visit and do some wandering of your own!

And . . . if you have some raw and real memories . . . words or pictures . . . of your own that you would like to share, then I would LOVE you to join in here at #polaroidspast .

It’s all about a fun and natural way of celebrating our bodies and reminding ourselves that not only are we all different shapes and sizes, and live different lives and different relationships, but we all change and grow in every aspect as the years pass by. That is just how we all naturally develop and change.

Sinful Anniversary #sinfulsunday

ModestyWedding1984

Modesty Ablaze Wedding night – 1984

This weekend is a special one for Hubby and I . . . thirty-one years ago, after several years of many Sinful Sundays, we celebrated our Wedding night.

As you can imagine, this was one photo that never made it into the pages of our Wedding Album! But as this week’s theme at Molly’s meme is all about retro and vintage . . . I thought it might be fun to share this memory from that very, very special evening.

You can see who else is looking back this Sunday by kissing the lips below!

But, I tell myself that I wouldn’t have had quite so much fun discovering . . . and experiencing . . . all my sinfully fun times in all the years since!!!

See who else is being Sinful this Sunday by kissing the lips below!

Modest White Raincoat #polaroidspast

WhiteRaincoat89

White Raincoat – 1989

I know it’s May, but we seem to be having lots of April showers here in London at present!

I’m having to make sure I always have a raincoat close at hand . . . just when I thought I could have packed them away until after the summer.

I’ve had lots and lots over the years of course (raincoats silly!!!) and this one . . . from 1989 . . . was one of my favourites.

Unfortunately I left it on the Tube on one late-night-home journey . . . and have only this photograph from my #polaroidspast collection to remember it by!

I have several more fond wardrobe-memories whenever I browse my Polaroids Past slide-show . . . as well as lots of giggles at my changing hair-style throughout the years!!!
