“Thirty-five today” I said warmly.
“Thirty-five what?” he teased.
“Thirty-five years!!!” I repeated. “You’d better not have forgotten!”
“Course not” he tremored.
“All that time together . . . Bound!” I said.
“Tied!” he nodded.
“You’ll be tied alright, if you have forgotten to get me something
very special!” I said.
“Tightly???” he asked.
“Trussed!” I hissed. “Tightly trussed!!!”
“I haven’t forgotten” he laughed. “You’ll just have to wait until tomorrow”.
“Tomorrow!!!” I queried. “It’s today! Why not today???”
“Because . . . because it’s Sunday” he said confidently.
“Well . . . I’d better be impressed!!!” I responded.
“Trust me” he laughed.
“Ok then . . . and here’s to another thirty-five” I said taking his hand.
“Another thirty-five???” he squeezed. “Well you’ll have to slow down a bit
on the trussed then!!!”
