Modesty Ablaze – 1988

On reading Hyacinth’s wonderfully strong words, just this Friday, on recent events surrounding something so natural, and so important as one’s personal freedom of choice, I was left wishing once again . . .

Why things can’t be simpler? Why can’t things be more straightforward . . . why can’t things be more . . . black and white!!!

Why can’t we just all let each other be who we choose to be ? . . . To live our lives how WE want to live them ? . . . AND to let others live theirs the way THEY want to live them???

Because . . . I’m sure the world would be a much nicer place for ALL of us !!!

Anyway, for hopefully more enjoyable and smiley thoughts than my own this Sunday, please tap the lips below!

  2. I can’t even imagine being that confident in my body at such a young age! You are an inspiration, always! ~C

  3. Love your hair in that shot. Kudos

I love the world for not being simple and straightforward! But completely agree with the sentiment that it would be lovely if we were allowed to make our own choices about our bodies and lifestyles. You look so lovely and relaxed in this photo – it’s great. ^^

  5. Kat

You look so relaxed in this pic! It’s really lovely.

I love your Polaroids Past series. Fabulous that you have kept these. 🙂 🙂 🙂

  7. Even a black and white photo contains a million shades of grey.

  8. Yes indeed, why can’t they be like that. Such a simple concept really but it seems so many people have trouble with it

  9. Your old photos & your words are wonderful!

  10. Just so lovely – your photos always make me happy – even if on this occasion the words are slightly melancholy x x x

  11. That’s a lovely photo. And a splendidly elegant, um, outfit. Some things never date.

I think that both honesty and acceptance abound, bountifully, so I hope that that was only a passing mood.

  12. Love your polaroids past, K. This one is interesting because the casual viewer sees a lovely young woman relaxing. While, a viewer who has seen other ‘polaroids past’ photos knows what lies beneath the Teddy… then and now. This innocent photo takes on a whole new meaning.

Yes, wouldn’t it be nice if people would leave others alone to live as they wish?

If only that were the case, it really isn’t a difficult concept is it?

Beautiful image, you look so happy and relaxed.

  14. I so agree!! and then we could all just chill and relax as you so beautifully demonstrated in 1988!

  15. Lovely photo! I adore your polaroids past! And a lovely sentiment as well.

  16. I am totally with you on this. Why can’t people just love and respect each other. If not love, then at least respect another’s choice and don’t judge them!
