Modesty’s Review Revue #wickedwednesday

For this week’s theme at Wicked Wednesday we are asked “Do you write Reviews?” and “Why?” and “How?”

Well, yes I do now post reviews here from time-to-time. Sometimes about a new book I have read, sometimes about a new sexy toy that I may have received from a special friend (or has been sent to me anonymously from my Wishlist pages) . . . or sometimes about new clothes or underwear that I have fallen in love with at first sight!

But the reason “why” I started is due to a suggestion by one of my special Friends after I’d taken him along to one of my favourite Toy Shops here in London. He joked “you seem to know about everything on the shelves, you should review them on your website” . . . and so, I suppose, more from a sense of “giggle and dare”, rather than from serious intent . . . I thought I would add an occasional summary of my experiences and my likes and dislikes of some of the newer items from my “Toy Shelf” (above).

And, much to my surprise, I started getting requests for more . . .

I’ve always been interested in anything to do with sex . . . and particularly fascinated by the thought of sex-toys themselves from the moment I first heard that such things existed! So, of course, I’ve been collecting all sorts of different items for years and years, long before the internet and being able to order on-line. (I can remember many nervous and hilarious visits to various dark and dingy establishments in Soho or the backstreets of Islington!)

Most of the items I purchased back then have long since been discarded, having lost their appeal . . . or broken and dead from under- (or over LOL!!) use.
But I have kept two or three for old-times sake (can you guess which ones from my shelf above???)

But I digress . . .

So . . . on being asked for more after my first review . . . I decided to add an occasional post as I went along, with the following disclaimer:

I realise that there are already thousands of long-established Sex Toy Reviewers and Review sites . . . most of whom will be far more adept at explaining all the technical details and specifications of things. But for me sexy clothes and lingerie . . . and sexy toys . . . are all about adding a little fun and excitement to things. So that is how I tend to approach my reviews and videos!!!
Just to explain “how it was for me” in a fun, and light-hearted, way without taking things too seriously! Chances are that if something makes me giggle and tingle and feel good, it will score higher on my Modesty Rating .

After all, everyone is different, and I would never expect things that thrill and excite me to necessarily have exactly the same affect on someone else. But I feel that at least by describing my basic feelings and experiences of a particular item, in as simple and straightforward language as possible, it may give my readers a clearer idea of what to expect . . . rather than rattling on about all the technical details.

But of course I’m sure that’s how all “reviewers” approach their reviews . . .
